Q. Where do the sports officials come from?
A. We contract out officiating for softball, basketball, volleyball and flag football. Different assigners run each sport and each official is independently contracted official with the assigner of that sport. Our top priorities is providing a high level of officiating, while maintaining consistency within the league. Officials are evaluated by Adult Sports Division staff and we welcome your feedback, both good and bad, to help us improve our leagues.
We also encourage the assigners to rotate officials between the leagues on a regular basis. While judgement may change from official to official, enforcement of the rules should remain consistent week to week. Please keep in mind this is a recreational league and the referees are human. They will occasionally miss a call, but are instructed to always give their best effort and strive to make the most accurate call in their judgment.
